CurrencyGo Privacy Policy
Effective date: 23 October 2026
CurrencyGo is operated by pl.workshop.
This policy explains how CurrencyGo uses information on its website and in ChatGPT, Codex or another compatible app.
Information we process and why
Currency codes, amounts and optional percentage fees
To display conversions. On the website, calculations run on your device and currency codes are used to request rates. In ChatGPT, Codex or another connected app, the platform may send your conversion inputs to CurrencyGo. Where supported, the card also shares your current calculation and result with that platform for the conversation.
Available country, language and time-zone settings
To suggest a home currency, choose an interface language and format dates and numbers. These settings may come from your device or the platform you use. You can choose the currency and language manually.
City searches and selected locations
To find a city and show its weather, UV index and European Air Quality Index. You can select a city manually, or the platform may provide one.
Optional device location
Requested only when you press the location button and grant permission. Coordinates are rounded to reduce precision before being saved or sent to weather providers. Location permission is not required for currency conversion.
Technical request information
Our hosting provider processes connection and diagnostic information, including IP addresses, request times, requested pages, device/browser details and errors, to deliver and protect the service. Technical logs may include city searches or rounded coordinates from requests.
Support correspondence
We receive your email address and the information you send so we can respond. Do not send passwords, login codes, bank or card details, or other sensitive information.
CurrencyGo does not require registration, access bank accounts or process payments. We do not use advertising or behavioral analytics, sell personal information, or use conversions to build advertising profiles.
Service providers and recipients
We send only the information needed for each service:
- Vercel provides hosting and technical request processing.
- Frankfurter receives currency codes to supply reference rates and the currency list. Your amount and fee are not sent to it.
- Open-Meteo receives city searches and rounded coordinates to provide city results, weather, UV and air-quality estimates. Searches may also include your interface language and an available country setting.
- MET Norway may receive rounded coordinates to provide weather when the main source is unavailable.
- Our email provider processes messages you send to support.
ChatGPT, Codex or another platform processes conversations, app requests and results under its own policies and settings. CurrencyGo does not control how long that platform keeps your conversations. Service providers may process information in countries other than yours.
Storage and retention
- Saved settings and rates: your language, home currency, selected city and saved rates remain on your device until replaced, cleared or removed by your browser or app. Saved rates show their date when used as a fallback.
- Conversion processing: we do not keep a permanent personal history of your conversions. Temporary rate and weather data are removed when replaced, cleared or the running service stops.
- Technical logs: our hosting provider retains application request logs for one hour. We do not keep a separate log archive. Records the provider holds independently for security, billing or legal purposes follow its own policies.
- Support correspondence: we delete support correspondence within 90 days after the inquiry is closed, unless a longer period is required by applicable law.
Clearing saved data on your device does not delete conversations in ChatGPT/Codex or emails already sent to support.
Your choices and requests
You can change currencies, language and city, deny or revoke location permission, and clear saved data through your browser or app's storage controls. Currency conversion remains available without location permission.
For privacy questions or to request access, correction or deletion of information you sent us, use the email contact on our Support page. Requests about a platform's conversations or a provider's own records should go to that provider.
Depending on applicable law, you may also have rights to restrict or object to processing, receive a copy of your information, withdraw location consent, or complain to a data-protection authority.
Changes
We will update this page and its effective date when CurrencyGo's data practices change. Material changes will be described on this page.
